August 18 Andersonville

Stephanie Weidner is trying to organize a show of our work at the Edgewater Historical Society, hopefully for as early as October 5. As more details become available, we'll keep you posted here. In anticipation of such a show coming together soon, and in order to have paintings relevant to the site of the show, we thought we'd explore this area of the city. (Edgewater runs from Lake to Ravenswood and from Foster to Devon.)

We'll meet at the Starbucks at 5300 N. Clark Street this Saturday at 8:30. Directions here. Critique begins promptly at noon.

PAPC Hits YouTube

Someone tipped me to this the other day: the PAPC has gone viral. Someone named superme3365 posted two videos he took of the June 30, 2007 outing to River North.

Here is part one:

August 11 Montrose (With A Model)

This Saturday, by popular demand, we will again have a model to pose for us outdoors. We'll go to Montrose and meet at the bait shop (where Montrose curves around to the north and the side road goes to the south around the harbor. Go here for directions.)

No extra fee for the model. Uncle Palette is picking up the tab.

Roger Beck Photos Available

Of the two photographers that took photos of our outing last Saturday at Humboldt Park, one of them--Roger Beck, Errol and Stephanie's friend--has posted them on his website. You can check them out by going to his on line gallery: http://www.rogerbeck.com/galleries

Once you are there, you have to register by giving some information and selecting a personal password. Once you have done that, use the access code papc to enter the gallery of photos Roger has posted of our outing. They are very nice. If you would like a copy of a particular photo, he'd be happy to make one for you.

Send me an email if you are having trouble viewing these photos.

PS I have uploaded the photos I took to the PAPC account with Flickr, where you can view photos I have taken of group outings going back to 2005. Just click on the link to the PAPC Photos in the upper right hand corner of this page.

Don't Miss Humboldt Park August 4th

Be sure to come to Humboldt Park tomorrow if you can: a magazine writer working on a story about the group has said he will be there taking notes of the occasion . . . .

Rumor also has it that a photographer will be there . . . .

Plein Air Show Success: Gallery Sitter Needed

The Plein Air show at the Palette and Chisel has been a great success--the turn out was good last Friday and the paintings have sold well. A number of sales occurred last Saturday when people were out walking in the neighborhood, so we'd like to have someone sit in the gallery this weekend to welcome people and show them the exhibit.

To volunteer, call Bill Ewers at the Palette and Chisel: (312) 642-4400.

Thanks.

T-Shirts

A few of you ordered t-shirts but never picked them up. I will have them on Saturday at Humboldt Park and you can get yours then. There are several extras, so if you are interested but didn't order one, I might have your size. $10 per shirt.

August 4 Humboldt Park

This Saturday we will go back to one of our favorite spots, winter and summer: Humboldt Park.

Meet at the boathouse at 8:30 a.m. (The boathouse is on the east side of Humboldt Avenue, just south of the lagoon. There is a parking lot the the south of the boathouse.)

Directions here.
